Clearwater Beach Boat Rentals

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your Clearwater Beach boat rental.

Do I need a license or boating experience to rent a boat?+

You do not need a boating license, but anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 who operates the boat must have a Florida Boating Safety Education ID Card (a quick online temporary certificate works — we'll show you how). For self-drive rentals we also require that whoever operates the boat has prior boating experience — we're not able to rent to first-time or inexperienced boaters. If you're new to boating, no problem: add a licensed captain and we'll handle the driving.

How many people can the boats hold?+

Our 24-ft Berkshire pontoons seat up to 9 guests, and our 2025 Viaggio tritoon seats up to 12. Coast Guard–approved life jackets are provided for everyone aboard.

Where do I pick up the boat?+

We meet you at 198 Seminole St in Clearwater. We'll send exact directions and a check-in time when you book. Please confirm the meeting location in your booking confirmation.

What's included, and what costs extra?+

Every rental includes the boat, safety gear, a Bluetooth stereo, a bimini shade top, a cooler, and a pre-trip orientation. Rentals are plus tax and fuel, and a licensed captain can be added for $35–$40 per hour. Your exact total is shown at checkout on FareHarbor.

Do you offer captained charters and tours?+

Yes. Add a licensed captain to any rental for $35–$40 per hour. We run sunset cruises, dolphin cruises, and island-hopping charters — just let us know what you'd like when you book.

What is your cancellation policy?+

Cancel at least 48 hours in advance for a full deposit refund. Cancellations made 3 hours or less before your charter are charged the full price. If the weather is unsafe, we'll reschedule or refund your trip.

How much does a boat rental in Clearwater cost?+

Rentals are $399 for 4 hours, $499 for 6 hours, and $599 for 8 hours, plus tax and fuel. Adding a captain is $35–$40 per hour.
